Obituary for CARL JOHN IVEC JR

Carl John Ivec, Jr. (73) December 1946, died January 6, 2020.

Beloved spouse of Barbara (nee Lukas), and loving father of Laura, Carl III, and Noelle Ivec.
Son of Carl John Ivec, Sr. and Margaret (nee Zalokar) both deceased. Brother of Charles (Mary Jo) Ivec, Jonathan (Virginia) Ivec, Joel (Irene) Ivec. Nephew of John (Florence) Zalokar (both deceased), Lillian (Mathias) and Mike Orazen (both deceased), Agnes Zalokar (deceased), Theresa (Zalokar) and James Weber, Catherine (Zalokar) and Samuel Palumbo, and Leo (Elsie) Ivec (Elsie deceased). Cousin of John Zalokar (deceased), Marty and Greg Palumbo, the Webers. Brother in law of Kate (Darren) Hinkle, Patricia Lukas, Teresa (Frederick) Avalos. Father in law to be to Brian English. Uncle to nephews Steven and Daniel Ivec, Michael and Steven Ritley; Nieces, Kim Ivec, Carolyn (Pat) O’Dale, Diane (Chad) Bernard, Stephanie (Ravi) Patel, Genevieve Ivec, Caroline Elftmann, Susan McKenzie, and Elizabeth Shaffer. Great Uncle to Owen Bernard, Noah Shaffer, Charlie, Joey, and Theodore O’Dale, Paige Bernard, and Felicity Elftmann.

The father of three children, he enjoyed sharing their interests. Many Saturday afternoons, Carl enjoyed playing golf with his son Carl III. Most Saturday mornings were spent with his oldest daughter, Laura, helping sell Laura’s Jams & Jellys, at the Willoughby Farmers Market, along with son-in-law to be Brian English.

For decades, Carl and Barbara were patrons of the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. They could also be found at the Rockefeller Greenhouse walking together enjoying the botanical gardens, plants, and flowers.

Carl and Uncle Leo (97) got together often for a game of pool at the Eastlake Senior Center. At his home, Carl played pool with his son, Carl III, and nephew Steven and brother Joel.

Since 1976, Carl was an active full-time real estate broker, in Cuyahoga and nearby counties. Carl and Barb established Carl J. Ivec Realty, Inc. August of 1991. He was a member of the United Small Broker’s Council, an avid volunteer at the St. Joseph Life Center, President and active member of the Beaumont Father’s club.

The Family will receive friends at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, Monday January 13 from 4-7 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 175 East 200 St. at 11:00 A.M.

Interment All Souls Cemetery.
